Company history

1958 Schmid founded the company as an electrotechnical company in St. Gallen.

1975 Most activity in the field of process automation.

1980 Formation of a branch office in Augsburg Germany as Walter Schmid GmbH.

1992 Renamed the company's headquarters in St. Gallen in Schmid Automation AG.

1995 Acceptance of activities of the Filtrox Automation Division.

1998 TÜV - Certification of Schmid Automation AG in DIN EN ISO 9001.

2000 Reorganization, expansion and renaming the branch office in Schmid Automation GmbH.

2000 Transfer of all activities of the Pfister Systemtechnik GmbH, Augsburg in the automation of batch plants by Schmid Automation GmbH.

2006 Transfer of the general management to Dr. Matthias Luterbacher from his father Jules Luterbacher.
